Alternatively, you may access Beilstein via DiscoveryGate (this is the preferred method and allows off-campus access).
You Must Be On-Campus to Connect to Beilstein Via Crossfire Commander
In the Libraries: Beilstein CrossFire is available on the public reference terminals in front of Paley Reference Desk and the public terminals in the Science, Engineering and Architecture Library (SEAL). To access, click the Beilstein Icon on the desktop.Elsewhere On-Campus: You may access Beilstein by downloading the CrossFire client to your on-campus computer as follows:
- Download either:
MDL CrossFire Commander V7 for Windows (10 MB)
- or -
MDL CrossFire Commander V6 for Macintosh (21 MB).
Installation will start automatically. If prompted, choose the "Open" option.
Note: Commander 7 is not available for MacIntosh. If you are a Mac user, you should download version 6. - You will be asked for the following:
TCP/IP Address: crossfire-acad.elsevier.com
Group: temple - After installation is complete, launch Commander to test your connection. When you initiate a connection you will be asked for the following:
User id: xftemple
Password: bu57-ky6
