City Parks Association Photographs
The City Parks Association was chartered on May 24, 1888 for "the establishment and maintenance of public parks and open spaces throughout the City of Philadelphia." This collections features photographs from 1890-1930 and includes mostly Philadelphia and surrounding-area views related to parks and general living conditions.
Civil Rights in a Northern City: Philadelphia
Civil Rights in a Northern City: Philadelphia is a collection of digitized archival resources detailing the history of the modern civil rights movement in Philadelphia. Through a compelling range of photographs, newspapers, manuscripts, film footage, and oral histories, the website seeks to highlight the key people, places, and events that made Philadelphia an important part of the national struggle for racial equality and social change.
Housing Association of the Delaware Valley Photographs
Images produced for the Housing Association of the Delaware Valley (previously the Philadelphia Housing Association) and the Octavia Hill Association, ca. 1897-1972. Includes housing interiors and exteriors, streets, courts, alleys, public housing projects, privy vaults, and sanitation conditions. Most images are exteriors and the emphasis of the collections is on poor living conditions.
Impulse Dance Annuals
Impulse established the first link between discourses in dance and the humanities while publishing a panorama of articles on dance, culture, life and art between 1949 and 1970. A seminal collection and synthesis of scholarship, journalism and documentation for dance in twentieth century American culture, edited by renowned choreographer and educator Marian Van Tuyl (1907-1987).
John W. Mosley Photographs
Images from the Blockson Collection's John Mosley Photograph Collection which provide a visual history of notable black entertainers, Negro Baseball League players, Penn Relays, social and political personalities and the general social life of Pennsylvania.
KIDSNET Study Guides
KIDSNET (1984-2010) was a major clearinghouse of information on children’s radio and television programming and produced influential educators’ study guides as well as other materials.
N.A.A.C.P., Philadelphia Branch Photographs
Photographs from the Philadelphia Branch of the N.A.A.C.P., 1943 - 1989. The images date largely from the 1940s and the 1980s, and highlight the 1944 Philadelphia Transportation Company strike; 1943 and 1944 membership drives; the 1984 Exemplar awards; the branch’s 80th anniversary celebration in 1989; and other events and meetings

The Philadelphia Jewish Archives preserves the history of the Greater Philadelphia Jewish community for that community, scholars, students, researchers, and the general public. This digital collection includes photographs from many of the individual and family papers and organization records in its holdings.
Philadelphia Magazine Subject Index 1946-1978
Published monthly since 1909, Philadelphia magazine has been indexed by commercial databases such as EBSCO and Gale only since 1980. Long ago, the Temple University Libraries indexed years 1949 - 1978. These indexes are now freely searchable online as a service to the community. Consult your library catalog to then obtain the month/year for any Philadelphia articles of interest.
Temple History in Photographs
Drawn from the University's archival collections, these images illustrate aspects of Temple's history from Russell Conwell (1843-1925) and the University's founding in 1884 to the present. Eventually images will cover campus life, sports, cultural events, student life, and individual and group portraits.
Temple Sheet Music Collections
Music published from the early 19th to early 20th centuries, containing lithographed and engraved cover art. These covers show remarkable designs and document developing printing techniques throughout more than 100 years. The collections include popular dances and songs, music commemorating great exhibitions, honoring heroes and stars, and comic tunes that reveal the ironies and anxieties of the time.
Temple Undergraduate Research Prize Winners
The Library Prize for Undergraduate Research was established in 2004 to encourage the use of Library resources, to enhance the development of library research techniques, and to honor the best research projects produced each year by Temple University undergraduate students. Up to three projects are selected each year to win $1000.
Temple University Electronic Theses & Dissertations
This collection includes all Temple University doctoral dissertations submitted after September 2008 and selected masters theses beginning December 2009. All are full-text searchable.
