Temple Libraries offer a full range of instructional services to Temple University students, faculty, and staff. Faculty may arrange for group instruction for their classes by scheduling a session with the librarian for their subject area.

Visiting the Reference Desk: Each of the Temple Libraries reference desks is staffed with reference librarians who will help anyone who asks. We will teach members of the Temple community how to search for and access information. The goal is to help library users become as independent as possible.


Contacting your librarian to schedule an appointment for an in-depth consultation. Each academic department or program has a librarian who is the liaison to that program. You may consider the librarian for your major or department to be your librarian.


Taking the TILT tutorial: TILT: Temple Information Literacy Tutorial, formerly known as the Library Skills Workbook, is an online tutorial designed to provide an introduction to searching, accessing, and evaluating information using library resources. Completion of the tutorial is a Core Curriculum requirement for all freshmen and transfer students.


Accessing instructional handouts and tutorials. Use these popular handouts from our library instruction sessions and tutorials from many libraries for self paced learning.


Using Subject Guides: The library Web site has an extensive array of online subject guides that can help with library research in a number of subject areas.
