Warning to Write-N-Cite (WNC) Users: If you are using MS Word 2007 you must also by using WNC III (download it here). WNC III is NOT yet installed on public terminals in the library and so is not usable on those computers (all of which have MS Word 2007 installed).
Note, 12-4-08: There is currently a problem with WNC III in which it does not recognize the MS Word document and fails to insert in-text citations. Refworks is working to resolve the problem. As a workaround Refworks recommends: "First, the user open their Task Manager and shut down every Write-N-Cite process that might be running. Then open MS Word and then the Write-N-Cite plug-in. The other method is to restart the computer which will achieve the same results as using the Task Manager."
RefWorks allows you to:

RefShare
RefShare allows you to share your RefWorks bibliographies with other users both in and outside the University. Shared bibliographies can be hidden, requiring that you give a URL to another user, or they can appear on the Temple RefShare page for anyone to find and access.
You can control how much access others have to your bibliography, including whether they can export the citations. Commenting can be turned on for shared bibliographies as can RSS feeds for notification of newly added references.
One example of researchers sharing their bibliographies through RefShare is the Temple Music Therapy Database.
For more information see these Tutorials on using RefShare.
Write-N-Cite
RefWorks Write-N-Cite utility allows RefWorks users to access their bibliographies from within Microsoft Word. This enables easier creation of in-text citations as well as works cited pages or bibliographies. You must have a RefWorks account to use Write-N-Cite.
Write-N-Cite can be downloaded here. (If you are using MS Word 2007 be sure to download Write-N-Cite III.)
To set up Write-N-Cite to work from off-campus, you must adjust the proxy settings. Instructions follow for Window and Macintosh users.
