Tue, Mar 15, 2022 | 2:00 pm

"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world." —Harriet Tubman

In honor of Harriet Tubman’s 200th birthday in March 2022, join the Blockson Collection for a two-day bicentennial celebration commemorating Harriet Tubman and her lifelong achievements. These programs are presented in partnership with the African American Museum in Philadelphia and the Cecil B. Moore Philadelphia Freedom Fighters.

The event on Tuesday, March 15 will include a music performance by the Original Slaves,  followed by a reenactment with students from the Jubilee School. Artist Eric Battle will also unveil an original Harriet Tubman artwork.

On Wednesday, March 16, we’ll present a discussion by the Cecil B. Moore Freedom Fighters on how Tubman's courage and commitment to freedom influences their activism. Jubilee School students will also read short stories they have written about people who fought for justice prior to Rosa Parks.

This program will be presented via Zoom. On the day of the program, use this link to join: https://temple.zoom.us/j/94608908028
