3D Printing

Thu, Oct 10, 2019 | 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

This workshop will cover the fundamentals of 3D printing using FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling), SLA (Stereolithography), and SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) technologies. During this workshop, participants will learn how to use resources in the Charles Library’s new Makerspace, including how to select the right printer and modify the settings of each printing software and hardware to adjust a print for a balance between quality and affordability. This workshop will also cover how to format 3D models before integrating the models into the 3D printing software, ensuring users have complete control over the printing process. This workshop will conclude by overviewing how to use professional printing services in a cost effective way for those wishing to 3D print with metals, full color, and more.

There will be four workshops in this series. You are not required to come to every one, but consistent attendance is encouraged.
