Intro to Creative Coding with p5.js

Wed, Oct 02, 2019 | 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

p5.js is a JavaScript library that makes coding accessible for artists, designers, educators, and beginners. In this workshop, participants will learn how to create interactive, generative creative works using the JavaScript programming language, and how to display them on the web. We will practice the fundamentals of computational thinking with the goal that the programming skills learned be transferrable to other web frameworks and languages. Detours through data visualization, interactivity, and the history of generative art and computer-based art will frame our exploration of programming as a creative medium. No prior programming experience is required.

There will be six workshops in this series. You are not required to come to every one, but consistent attendance is encouraged.
