400 Years of Witnessing: Book Signing and Conversation with Dr. Molefi Kete Asante

Join us at the Blockson Collection for a book signing and conversation with Molefi Kete Asante. His book 400 Years of Witnessing is a memoir of a people, 1619–2019. In this book of poems, Dr. Asante writes about iconic markers, historical personalities, and important events in the lives of African people. Bringing together his intellectual and activist interests, Dr. Asante has produced a poetic memoir to represent the 400 years of African presence in the English colony of North America. 

Dr. Asante is chair of Temple University’s Department of Africology and African American Studies and president of the Molefi Kete Asante Institute for Afrocentric Studies. He has published 85 books, more than 500 articles, and is considered the most published African American scholar as well as one of the most distinguished authors in the African world.
