Douglass Day Transcribe-a-thon

Fri, Feb 14, 2020 | 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

On Valentine’s Day 2020, you are invited to a transcribe-a-thon in honor of Frederick Douglass' birthday. Although Douglass was born into bondage, and never knew his birthdate, he chose to celebrate every year on February 14th. We celebrate this day as a moment for preserving Black history together.

Join us this year at Temple University’s Charles Library as we celebrate Douglass Day by inviting participants to transcribe the papers of the prominent African-American scholar, Anna Julia Cooper. Transcriptions will be completed using Zooniverse
