Detailed Collection Information
Historical Note
The Citizens Education Campaign Committee was created on April 5, 1965 at the Executive Committee meeting of the Citizens Charter Committee and in consultation with the Educational Rule Charter Commission. Its primary purpose was to organize a Citizens Education campaign to ensure passage of the amendment to the Home Rule Charter which would provide Educational home rule for Philadelphia, and also to inform the voters of Philadelphia about the other primary ballot questions to be voted on that year.
In the following years the Committee continued to form near election time for this purpose of informing the voters of the provisions, features, and effects of the primary ballot questions to be voted on that year.
