Biographical Note 
Yta Grinberg (anglicized as Yetta Greenberg) was born in 1890 in Romania. She immigrated to the United States in 1901. She married Solomon Marcus in 1916, and they had three daughters and two sons. Yetta died in October 1982.
 
Description of Collection 
Hand-stitched notebook of secular Romanian songs compiled by Yta Grinberg, presumably in grammar school. A handwritten title on the first page “Caietele ale cântece din clasa IIIa primara” loosely translates into English as "A Collection of 3rd Grade Songs." There are drawings of fish and birds near the back of the songbook.
