Historical Note
Originally called the Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Delaware Metropolitan Project, Inc., Penjerdel was a private corporation which sponsored research and disseminated information on governmental and public problems in the tristate, eleven county region from Trenton to Wilmington. Its objective was to "assist the citizens of the region to decide which solutions of regional problems they should support, so that the great potential of the region may be more fully realized." Penjerdel's membership was drawn from citizens' organizations and academia. It sponsored seminars, published extensively, held conferences, and helped finance research projects through grants to colleges, universities, and citizens' groups.

This collections contains annual reports; minutes; Board of Directors' papers; financial records; committee records; state and county corporate members records; materials regarding planning boards and agencies, community councils, conservation agencies, chambers of commerce; and subject files.
