Journal Publishing

Temple University Libraries partners with faculty, students, and the Temple community to publish scholarly, open access online journals. The Libraries use Open Journal Systems (OJS) for the management of our journals. OJS was created by the Public Knowledge Project.
Journal platform features include:

  • Blind, double-blind, or open peer-review processes
  • Online management of copyediting, layout, and proofreading
  • Delegation of editorial responsibilities
  • Management of publication schedule and ongoing journal archiving
  • Customizable user interface
  • Multilingual interface supporting the world’s most widely used languages
  • Article usage statistics
Initial and ongoing services from the Libraries include:
  • Hosting
  • Technical assistance
  • Consultation on journal policies, editorial workflow and management, and copyright
  • ISSN registration
  • Assignation of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs)
  • Assistance in gaining recognition as a scholarly journal
