The Automated Storage & Retrieval System (BookBot)
The Temple University ASRS, called the BookBot, located in the Charles Library, is a state of the art automated storage and retrieval system containing nearly 1.5 million volumes. When a book or bound journal is requested via our online catalog, it relays a message to the BookBot requesting the desired material. The BookBot then initiates the request and the book is delivered to a processing station to be readied for patron pick up.

Materials are retrieved from the BookBot during the hours listed below. Once an item is retrieved and placed on the first floor Hold Shelf, it can be picked up any time that the library is open.
